Farmer Gali’s Report
Howdy members!
We had a rainy start to this week, but the team powered through to bring you these exquisite vegetables. This is our last spring share box (say it ain’t so!), which means this is also our last online sale until the main season. We also only have 2 more farmer’s markets until the fall: May 25th and June 1st. If you want to stock up on your favorite spring veggies or starter plants for your garden, now is the time.
This break in between shares will help us hit the ground running for the main season, which means tons of planting, weeding, and excitement! It’s a lot of work, but we’ve got a great team of wonderful people, so we will do it with no problem. Hopefully, the weather will be kind and welcoming as we enter summer. I am personally counting the days until the summer solstice, but until then, we will enjoy the milder air, the blossoming lilacs, and, yes, the rain.

Fun in the rhubarb patch! This planting has produced so much for us and has “forced” Laura to make some desserts for the crew.
We have barese mini chard in the box this week and on our online store! Don’t let his confidence intimidate you. This guy can be used like Swiss chard and goes great with eggs or lentils.

This past week, we had our first pack for the Juneau County Local Food Purchase Assistance Program. It is amazing to see all the work done to address food insecurity in the community.
